Dragon Ball Z Legends Update Adds Four New Fighters to Minecraft
Minecraft's Dragon Ball Z crossover has expanded with Bardock, Teen Gohan, Gotenks, and Vegito, plus an eight-player tournament mode and fresh story battles.
Minecraft News
The Dragon Ball Z Legends Update 1.1 is now live for Minecraft Bedrock Edition, bringing substantial new content to the crossover DLC that originally launched in 2025. According to gamemarket.gg, the update rolled out on 21–22 October 2026 depending on your region, and it focuses on expanding the existing fighting experience rather than introducing an entirely separate mode. Developer Cyclone has packed the release with four new playable characters, additional Story Mode encounters, a Custom Tournament system supporting up to eight players, eleven alternate character versions, and new battle arenas.
The four headline additions represent different chapters of the Dragon Ball franchise. Bardock, Goku's father, brings Saiyan origins into the roster alongside the original Goku and Vegeta. Teen Gohan captures one of the series' most celebrated arcs—his pivotal role during the Cell Saga—giving players another Gohan variant to experiment with. Gotenks, the fusion of Goten and Trunks, arrives with his signature flashy personality and unconventional combat style. Vegito, the Potara fusion of Goku and Vegeta, rounds out the quartet as one of Dragon Ball Z's most recognisable fusion warriors. Gamemarket.gg confirmed all four fighters, though detailed move lists and balance statistics have not yet been published.

Multiplayer and Solo Expansions
Custom Tournament stands out as the update's most significant multiplayer feature. The mode allows groups of up to eight players to organise structured competitions inspired by Dragon Ball's own tournament arcs, moving beyond the one-on-one battles that dominated the original DLC. This addition appeals particularly to players who already enjoyed the crossover's cooperative and PvP activities, giving friends a new reason to gather and test different fighters against each other.
Solo players have not been overlooked. Legends Update 1.1 adds four new Story Mode fights, extending the campaign progression that shipped with the base crossover. The original DLC already featured battles across iconic Dragon Ball locations including the Cell Games Arena and Planet Namek, with Capsule Corporation serving as a central hub. The update continues this combat-focused storytelling with additional encounters, though Mojang has not yet detailed the specific opponents or story objectives players will face.
Beyond the new fighters, the update introduces eleven alternate versions of the original characters. These variations provide additional unlockable content for returning players who have already worked through much of the base experience. Combined with the new roster additions and fresh battle areas, the alternate versions significantly expand the available character selection for both collectors and competitive players.
Access and Pricing
- Legends Update 1.1 is available exclusively for Minecraft Bedrock Edition
- No separate purchase required—existing DLC owners receive the update automatically
- The base Dragon Ball Z DLC costs 1,510 Minecoins or $8.99 USD on the Minecraft Marketplace, with regional pricing variations
- Online multiplayer on consoles requires the applicable platform subscription
The original Dragon Ball Z crossover already featured signature techniques such as Goku's Kamehameha and Vegeta's Galick Gun, alongside character transformations and familiar environments. Legends Update 1.1 builds on that foundation without replacing existing features, ensuring both new and returning players have access to a comprehensive combat experience.
What Players Are Saying
The community response has centred on enthusiasm for the new character roster, particularly the inclusion of fusion warriors. Many players view Gotenks and Vegito as essential additions for fans seeking variety beyond the original line-up. However, some viewers have expressed frustration at the lack of detailed move lists and balance information released alongside the update announcement, making it difficult to assess how these new fighters will perform in competitive play. A few commenters have also questioned whether the update justifies revisiting the DLC for those who completed the original content months ago, though the eight-player tournament mode has generated genuine interest among group players.
