About 9Minecraft News

What we publish

9Minecraft News covers one game. Every story here is about Minecraft — Java and Bedrock updates, snapshots and previews, mods and add-ons, and what the community is making and arguing about. There are 17 stories across 4 sections right now, and the front page is rebuilt every day.

How a story is made

We are not a newsroom with reporters. Each story starts as a topic: when several outlets, Mojang’s own patch notes and Minecraft creators on YouTube all cover the same thing on the same day, that is a topic worth a page. We read every one of those sources, strip out what they repeat, keep what only one of them says, and write a single article from the whole set. Creators and outlets are credited by name in the text.

Only fresh material is used. A topic has to have been covered within the last two days to qualify, so this is a news site rather than an archive of things that happened months ago.

Why there are no outbound links

Every image and every page you read here is hosted on our own servers, and the links on this site stay inside the 9Minecraft network. The illustrations are rendered from Minecraft’s own block and item data by our tooling, not lifted from anyone else’s site.

Corrections

If a story here gets something wrong, we would rather fix it than leave it. Write to us through the contact page on the main 9Minecraft site.
